From the Vaults
"Prudent People Seek A Safe Place Wherein To Lodge Their Securities" - so says the wording across the back wall of the vaults of the first Municipal Bank, deep below Broad Street in Birmingham.
Normally impossible to access, I enjoyed a visit during a walk around TV and film locations of Birmingham. The vaults have featured in numerous TV programmes, including the BBC's Hustle series - the banking hall above has also played host to a number of TV sets - including being a record store and a flat.

Safety deposit boxes. They are all empty now - not all of the contents were collected and are safely stored off site, awaiting their respective owners. They can only be opened in the presence of a solicitor.
